Downhill longboarding at 70 mph sounds terrifying enough before you see what the road actually looks like. Josh Neuman rockets down a twisting mountain road in Switzerland, carving through sweeping bends while the incredible Alpine landscape flashes past around him.
There’s no elaborate production needed here. The raw following-camera perspective puts you right behind Neuman and makes the speed feel increasingly ridiculous as the descent continues.
A Mountain Road Becomes a High-Speed Racetrack
The run begins quickly, but the sense of speed keeps building. Neuman stays low over the board as gravity pulls him farther down the mountain and the road stretches out ahead.
Then come the corners. Rather than simply traveling in a straight line, he has to continuously adjust his position and carve through the bends while maintaining control at extraordinary speed.
At its fastest, the run reaches around 70 mph — roughly 112 km/h. Watching someone travel that fast while standing just centimeters above the asphalt makes even the wider sections of road look intimidating.
That’s what makes downhill longboarding so spectacular to watch. Balance, road awareness, precise steering and commitment all have to come together while there is very little room for error.
