Watch how an ordinary school bus undergoes an incredible transformation into a fully equipped luxury tiny home. What begins as a familiar passenger bus eventually becomes a stylish living space with a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and many of the comforts of a conventional home.
President Chay spent more than a year completing the ambitious project, and almost every part of the original bus had to be reworked along the way.
From School Bus to a Beautiful Home on Wheels
The transformation starts by stripping out the original interior, but the project soon becomes much more ambitious. The roof is cut and raised to create substantially more headroom inside the bus.
From there, the empty shell gradually begins to resemble a house. Insulation, framing, electrical wiring and plumbing are installed, while water tanks underneath the vehicle help make the finished home practical for everyday living.
Walls, flooring, cabinets and carefully designed living areas completely change the interior. By the time the project is finished, it’s difficult to believe you’re looking at the inside of a vehicle that once carried rows of passengers.
The school bus still has its unmistakable shape on the outside, but opening the door reveals an entirely different world.
