At first glance, the camera location looks like an ordinary patch of forest. But over the following months, it becomes clear that this spot is regularly visited by some of the Yukon’s most impressive animals.
Grizzly bears and black bears stop near a scent-marking tree, while wolves quietly pass through the area. A wolverine makes an appearance, and a pair of lynx are captured moving through the darkness at night.
As the seasons change, huge bull moose also wander into view. Seeing so much Yukon wildlife using the same small area makes the footage feel like a hidden highway through the forest.
Because the camera remains in one place, you also get a fascinating sense of time passing as the landscape and its wild visitors gradually change.
