This 15-year-old human calculator leaves the judges of Asia’s Got Talent stunned with his incredible ability to solve math problems almost instantly. Yaashwin Sarawanan doesn’t need a phone, paper or even a calculator — he works out the answers entirely in his head.
And just to make things more interesting, judge David Foster gets a real calculator to see whether he can keep up.
Mental Math at Incredible Speed
Yaashwin introduces himself as a human calculator and tells the judges that he wants to prove math can actually be fun and easy. It doesn’t take long before everyone understands why he earned that nickname.
The judges give him numbers to calculate while David Foster enters the same problems into a calculator. Yaashwin rapidly works through addition and multiplication without appearing to slow down.
Then he raises the difficulty with division involving decimal answers. Even with the numbers becoming more complicated, his mental calculations continue at astonishing speed.
By the end of the performance, the judges and audience are clearly impressed — and Yaashwin walks away with three yeses to move forward in the competition.
Why We Loved This Video
The speed alone is remarkable, but Yaashwin’s confidence makes the performance even more entertaining. He isn’t quietly concentrating for minutes at a time — the answers seem to arrive almost immediately.
Watching someone calculate mentally while a judge struggles to keep pace with an actual calculator creates exactly the kind of moment that makes you want to see what challenge comes next.
It’s a brilliant demonstration of an unusual talent — and one that might make you reconsider just how powerful the human brain can be.
